Mark Leonard - 2008 EMU Hall of Fame Inductee

Mark Leonard swam with the Macomb Y Marlins in the early-mid 1990 time frame, and still holds several impressive Marlin team records. On Sunday Feb 16, 2008, Mark Leonard was inducted in the EMU 32nd Annual Hall of Frame.

MARK LEONARD.... Graduated in 1999...One of the most outstanding swimmers in EMU history...Was an eight time Mid-American Conference individual champion and also swan on three MAC-champion relay teams...Captured the 1,650-yard freestyle title in four straight MAC Championships (1996-1999)...Was a first-team-All-Mac Academic Team selection in both 1997 and 1998...Earned NCAA All-American honors in 1997 and was an honorable mention All-American in 1998...Was a silver medalist at the 1999 World University Games...Went on to become one of the top five distance swimmers in the world, winning two national titles in open water swimming races.
